Today I walked to downtown Iowa city at around noon to get some buffalo wings from the Buffalo Wild Wings (my favorite place) at the university capital mall. I ordered 20 wings, and the lady asked me if I am a faculty. I showed my IowaOne card and said yes. She said she does not know the details, but today is a faculty appreciation day(or teacher's day or something? I didn't hear clearly), so the charge of $27.49 + tax is waived. I wrote a book review recently on my own PK books. I know, this is unusual. Most journals no longer take book review. The one which takes such type of manuscript rejected this book review since it is written by the book author (me). Happy to share that Hima Bindu Gottam, Director of Formulation Development at UI Pharmaceuticals, made a generous donation to our College of Pharmacy to establish Bindu Gottam Fund for Pharmaceutics Education, which supports graduate students enrolled in our pharmaceutics program.
