(An, 10/21/2026) Happy to share that Dr. Renan Cabrera made a generous donation of $3,000 to the Hawkeye Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics Fund, which is a fund supporting graduate students in University of Iowa College of Pharmacy working on PK/PD related research.   

Renan worked in my group as a Visiting Scholar in 2021. That 1-year intensive PK training, including taking both my basic PK and advanced PK/PD courses and working on a popPK project, helped him to change his career path completely. He was a theoretical physicist before, and he is a pharmacometrician and clinical pharmacologist now. 

Renan currently is a Senior Manager in Clinical Development at Sun Pharma. He mentioned that he made this donation because “Iowa’s training played a pivotal role in my transition from theoretical physics to the fields of pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology. I hope to help support future students and researchers pursuing careers in pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology, just as I was fortunate to benefit from Professor An's guidance”.
