I like history, I love stories, and as a pharmaceutical researcher, I have an innate and immense interest in medicines. I never imagined that one day I could link these pieces together and write a book series on the history of drug discovery, a topic full of fascinating stories.

For the book series of “Stories Behind the Drugs that Changed the World”, so far I have released two books. Book #1, “Magic Bullets and Beyond” was highlighted in my recent post. This post focuses on Book #2, “The Unforgettables” (Amazon link).

Like a time machine, this entertaining and educational drug history book will carry you to the past so that you can:

◆ Witness the turbulent life of an unrecognized Jewish inventor who was the father of a wonder drug.

◆ Meet a marketing magician who single-handedly turned a small manufacturer into a giant producer of a wonder drug with his numerous “advertising masterpieces”.

◆ Meet THE wonder drug which had once ruled the world and witness its century-long journey with many unexpected turns.

◆ Witness a horrible disease which turned sea crew into zombies during one of the greatest tragedies in the history of sea navigation in the age of sail.

◆ Meet a Scottish ship’s surgeon who conducted a famous experiment, which is considered to be the first ever controlled clinical trial in medical history.

◆ Witness how countless people became victims of a speckled monster.

◆ Meet an English physician who went down in history as “a man whose work saved more lives than the work of any other human”.

◆ Watch royal philanthropic expedition of the vaccine, which was considered one of the greatest philanthropic missions the world had ever seen.

To keep readers engaged, I intentionally kept each story short and the book thin. This book (“The Unforgettables”) is book 2 of the series of stories behind the drugs that changed the world.

Book 1, “The Magic Bullets and Beyond” is available at Amazon.
Book 3, “Double-Edged Swords” (release date: TBD).
